The question we get asked most, outside of “What’s it like to work with Robert St. John?,” is probably “What’s coming up next for Extra Table?,” and we have quite the event approaching. The Purple Parrot Café is hosting a Wine Festival, and unlike in previous years, this year Extra Table will receive proceeds from the event. It’s going to be unlike anything Hattiesburg has ever seen.
The Purple Parrot Wine Festival: A Benefit for Extra Table is a one of a kind world-class wine tasting. With 35 winemakers from across the world, over 110 wines, many that are valued at over $100.00 per bottle, will be made available for tasting. Winemakers, the actual makers of the wine, will be traveling from Australia, New Zealand, France, Spain, South America, South Africa, Germany, Washington, and beyond to partnering with the Purple Parrot Café to end hunger at Hattiesburg’s charitable wine tasting event. Proceeds from the event benefit Extra Table, and we couldn’t be happier to be a part of the event. If you’re looking for tickets they can be purchased for $75 through the Crescent City Grill or Purple Parrot Café at 601.264.0656. The event will be located at the Train Depot from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
Absolutely 100% of donations received by Extra Table purchase healthy food to feed the hungry. We don’t skim off the top of your donations to meet our administrative needs, and we simply never will. In order for us to continue to guarantee that your dollars purchase food we have two fundraisers a year to offset our administrative costs. One of those is the Purple Parrot Wine Festival, which will be April 12 at the Train Depot. This isn’t something you’ll want to miss, not to mention it’s the only time you’ll get to drink some of the rarest wine in the world while helping us end hunger.
