HATTIESBURG, Mississippi: The Mississippi Gamma chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity will host its 13th annual Chili Cook-Off starting at 12:30 pm Saturday, October 27th in The District on campus at Southern Miss. All proceeds will benefit Extra Table in order to send food to the USM Eagle’s Nest.

“We are looking forward to a fun day in The District! The Chili Cook-Off is a fun foodie event and an easy family-friendly event to support. 100% of the money raised will go to purchase food,” state Martha Allen, Executive Director of Extra Table.

Extra Table is a Hattiesburg-based non-profit agency that works in partnership with Sysco Corporation to get new, healthy food to soup kitchens and food pantries throughout Mississippi. One of those pantries is the USM Eagle’s Nest Food Pantry.

The Eagle’s Nest, a student-run food pantry located on Southern Miss’ Hattiesburg campus, is available to any Southern Miss student or staff member in need of food, hygiene items or school supplies.
