HATTIESBURG, MISS. — Southern Prohibition Taproom is opening the doors for the 3rd Annual Tapas, Taps and Lagniappe, a small-plate and beer pairing to benefit Extra Table, on Saturday, February 17, from 12 p.m.-4 p.m. in downtown Hattiesburg.

For a $15 entry fee, attendees can sample SoPro’s beers, paired with tapas (small plates of a dish) and desserts from some of Hattiesburg favorite restaurants: The Porter, the Keg & Barrel, GrateFull Soul, The Depot Coffeehouse & Bistro, Crescent City Grill, Southern Kernels Gourmet Popcorn and Insomnia Cookies of Hattiesburg.

Proceeds from each ticket will go directly to Extra Table, a local non-profit organization with the mission of engaging communities in the fight against hunger by using 100% of charitable dollars to get new, healthy food to the 670,000 underfed and underserved people in Mississippi. Through a partnership with Sysco, Extra Table raises funds, purchase healthy food bundles from Sysco and has the food shipped to over 26 food pantries and soup kitchens from Pascagoula to Tupelo.

“Hattiesburg is a one-of-a-kind town. Everyone here is always willing to rally around causes that help one another, and this event is no different,” said Extra Table Interim Executive Director Stacy Ahua. “We couldn’t be more thankful to work with Southern Prohibition again, all of our participating restaurants, and the sponsors and partners who are helping to promote the event. This will be our biggest year yet.”
