The Annual Hunger Run benefitting Extra Table has become a staple fall event in Hattiesburg, with even more promise to grow this year. In it’s 5th year, the run will take place in a new location at the Southern Prohibition Brewery in Downtown Hattiesburg.

Last year, the Hunger Run saw close to 200 runners participate, with hopes to double that number this year. “Not only is the Hunger Run an anticipated annual event for local runners, but 100% of the profits from the event are used to purchase healthy food in bulk for Edwards Street Fellowship Center and Christian Services.,” said Extra Table Executive Director Michael Dixon. “Every part of this day is great for Hattiesburg,” he continued.

This year, the Hunger Run will take place on Saturday, November 4 starting at 2:00pm at the SoPro Taproom. Participants are encouraged to sign up in advance in order to take advantage of discounted prices. Each participant in the race is invited to enjoy a free after party, which will include food and beer, provided by Southern Prohibition.
