HATTIESBURG, MS: Extra Table is taking football to the food bank with a fall giving campaign, the TACKLE HUNGER GIVING CHALLENGE, brought to you by the title sponsor, The First Bank.
Extra Table is the partnership, launched in 2009 by well-known restaurateur Robert St. John, making a difference in the lives of Mississippians by fundraising in order to stock food pantries and soup kitchens across the state with wholesome, nutritious food.
Extra Table has formed a team of businessmen willing to take on a challenge in order to tackle hunger. This group of distinguished men are working together through the REAL MEN TACKLE HUNGER initiative to raise awareness about hunger in Mississippi and funds ensuring Extra Table’s ability to provide healthy food to its over 50 partner soup kitchens and food pantries on a monthly basis.
This fall is going to look very different. On Thanksgiving Day, as many of us sit down with our families to tables full of food, thousands of Mississippians will remain hungry. Canned food and turkey drives may be few and far between. The REAL MEN TACKLE HUNGER campaign will ensure our hungry neighbors have food this fall and into 2021.
